According to his website, he is not doing the 07+ NBS trucks yet? I like the idea of tuning to specific Data logging though. And the Crank Relearn capability too.

try wait4me tune.

I have been reading alot over at PerformanceTrucks.net and according to those guys, who are all pretty serious motorheads, they do NOT recommend Jesse (Wait4Me) and are pretty adamant about it. Of course, they all say a Dyno tune in person is the only way to go, but if you have to use a mail-order, go with Wheatley or Nelson. I am not basing my decision solely on those guys, but I also believe, based on what I have researched, that the Wait4Me tune probably will be no better than the Edge, or only slightly better. I am a pretty firm believer in the "You get what you pay for" philosophy, and at $75 vs $375, I have to think more goes into the Nelson tune.

Anyone want to buy an Edge Evolution? LOL Actually, it will be a couple of months before I would be willing to part with it. I may even keep it if I can still use it for PIDs and the other info readout stuff.

I read the link, really didn t impress me either way. Lets say , I ve had no problems with my tune. It was an improvement.Could it be better? I don t know? We need to compare when someone gets another mail order tune in the same NBS 6.0 truck. I believe the handheld tuners do not change as many paramaters as a mail order tune does. Don t you think these tuners all know what the others are doing in their tunes?

Yes, I agree they probably are all pretty equally qualified tuners. Heck, I have even heard that the Edge techs use HP Tuners to create their tunes. So, it's more a matter of how the tuners approach each individual tune. I have to think that for $75, all Jesse does is evaluate what you want and then selects a pre-made tune that most closely addresses your needs. Whereas the higher priced tuners most likely tune each module individually. But, I do not know any of this as fact, I am just making educated guesses based on my research on this over the past year. It seems logical then that the Edge, Diablosport, Jesse's pre-loaded WFM tunes (on the SCT tuner) and Jesse's mail-order ECM tunes are pretty equal.

Yes, alot of people are happy with WFM, just as I am happy with my Edge...based on my expectations. There is no comparison to how my truck drives now as compared to stock, but I am also quite sure there is alot more throttle response available. It still lacks power at certain RPM levels. It also still seems to "fall on it's face" a little bit when accelerating, although not NEARLY as bad as stock. But the drive-by cable 5.3 on my 2000 did NOT do it at all, nor does my wife's 200HP V6 Impala.

The way I see it, if I can get a REAL tune for $375, with free tweaks and updates (less shipping) for the life of my truck, and can sell my Edge for about $250 (should not be a problem), it's only an additional $125 investment. What have I got to lose?

I can tell you both worlds.

I had a Nelson tune on my 04 Hd ECSB 6.0

I have a Blackbear tune in my 07 Classic HD ECSB. Both trucks are exactly the same, one is just an 04, the other is an 07 classic.

Blackbear is just as good as the Nelson tune was, for a much much lower price.

Blackbear (Justin) sends you a scan cable, you log data from your truck, email it to him. Tell him what you want with the tune. He tunes it to YOUR truck and how your truck runs. He sends a PCM, you do another log, and if needed he will send another pcm with an adjusted tune.

The guy actually responds to email within hours, a day tops. Shipping is 2-day priority at no extra charge -- Nelson is $25? I believe?

Bottom line for the same exact results at less than half the price...go with Blackbearperformance.

His website says he does not do the GMT900's yet. Any idea if/when he will be doing these? I do like the Scan Cable idea.

I agree with you (Vmax), I think there is alot in the NBS 900 s that is still hidden. I also feel there should be more power coming out of the 6.0.They are totally different from the pre07 s in what they need for a tune in the ecm. I will be ready for another tune when someone shows me what can be done. I also just had to do something to get the horrible stock tune out. I only got a mid grade tune cause I did not want to have to run 93 ocatane all the time. I ran a 15.7 on a 90+ degree day at about 1000ft above sea level. I was not happy with that but I have heavy 20in chrome wheels, side steps, just to mention a few extra weights. Next time I will run the same tune on a cooler day with 93 octane and see if it s any better. When someone does a tune that will light-up the rear tires, I ll switch tunes. Keep me posted on your finding.

Dammit! I should have listened to you to begin with and just waited. Oh well.
