Power Door Lock Problem

I have a 2008 Silverado with power door locks. At times when I'm driving I can hear the door lock mechinism working without having my finger on the door lock button, however, the door locks don't open or close when it's making the noise. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas.

I had the same thing on my car (Lincoln) that I drive for work. The car had an automatic door locks. The same issue as with you used to happen after driving in rain. So I assume it must have been an electrical short somewhere.

 

If you have automatic doorocks, disableing the autolock system might help.

 

Either way I think you should fix the problem as soon as possible, these door lock actuators are prone to fail even under normal operating conditions.

Really Robert are you as a amazed at the amount of questions on how to fix a warranty vehicle. What do you people want, to come into the dealer with as much knowledge as someone who has been doing this for 20 years and is still challenged daily? Just take the d**n warranty work to the dealer and let us fix it. Warranty costs are worked into the $50k you paid for the vehicle.
