Finally Traded Her In :(

Finally had to get rid of the 01 Tahoe with 204K. Boy, they really don't give you much for a high mileage vehicle. Had it since new in 2000 and it was a great vehicle. Traveled all over the country in that thing and it held up very nicely!

As sad as I was to see her go, I'm smiling at the performance of the new 6.2L L92, 6L80, and AWD in the Red Jwel Yukon Denali that replaced the Hoe. Still babying it at 40 miles but I stomped on one of the demos and couldn't believe the acceleration...especially for a 6,000lb sled :) Don't even know how to use all the electronics yet but it will be fun finding out. I'll put up some pic's when I get a chance.

Looks like we're an all-GM family again with wifey's Enclave and my Yukon. Thank god for company cars. Both seem to be excellent vehicles for their target markets. Let's hope they are reliable and hassle-free. My Tahoe certainly was a pleasure to own for 7 years and many many hours in the saddle. I just need to get the new seats broken in for my butt  Gm seems to be designing some great vehicles these days.

Guess I'll have to change my sig one of these days!

Congrats on the new ride, and don't forget the mandatory pics. But I'm guessing you almost gave that Tahoe away with all those miles on it. Anything with over 100k, and suddenly they don't want it anymore.

204K is about the most miles I have heard about on that style Tahoe.

Congratulations on the new truck, I have heard that they are awesome.

HERE is a quick pic on a lousy day.

Driving to work was a bummer this morning as I'm supposed to keep it under 55 for 500 miles. Man is that slow in Chicagoland. The ride is outstanding but it is still a truck.

Got $6500 for my Tahoe on trade and they were at invoice with rebated after that so it was a good time to buy. I may have gotten a little more for the hoe but it was an easy transaction. The Tahoe was a great vehicle and still burned zero oil at 204K. Go GM!!! Only problem now is I have two key fobs that are exactly the same and I am forever unlocking my wifes Enclave instead of my Yukon.

Once she gets broken in a bit, I'll give my performance review

Congrats! I'm sure you'll like the Denali a lot!

Love the look of those duals. I've been reading some of your posts and I like what you've done to your truck. Once I get through winter, I'm hoping to put a Corsa Touring cat-back on along with an intake and a tune. I have heard the new six speed is difficult to tune. Any comments? I know the six speed is rated to something like 430HP and stock I'm at 380HP. I hope it is better than the 4l60e from my Tahoe.

Thanks for the comments. I'll post some fresh pics after I spend Friday on a Zaino session

Thanks for the comments on my truck! I got rearl wheel liners and contoured flaps for Christmas. It looks like I may be getting some 20" wheels, here soon, too... Then, I've gotta figure out a way to get some RUBBER to go on those wheels... Somewhere in there, I'd like to put the 2" drop shackles on the back.. I'd like to get everything done before it's road trip time in early Spring. We'll see how it all turns out!

According to DiabloSports, they don't "do" anything to the 6 speed with the Predator. But, mine seems to shift a little differently with the tune in vs. with the tune out. So, I guess it's the way the engine behaves that makes it shift a little different. The main thing I do w/ my 6 speed is use the manual-mode shifting a lot. If I'm in the apt complex parking lot, I'll put it in M1 or M2. Otherwise, it'll get up into 3rd or 4th real quick. Then, if you give it gas, it's trying to get back down to a "moving" gear again (and I don't mean stomping on it and trying to run down a flock of Grackels that are in the parking lot, either).

After I'm off-property, I'll put it in 3rd or 4th. If I'm going to be driving at around 30, I'll put it in M4. If I'm goign to be driving around 40, I'll put it in M5. I usually keep it out of M6, unless I'm on the freeway... Some times, I'll drive along for a little ways on the freeway in M5 and wonder "why does it sound different!? Oh! I forgot to hit the button!"

I've heard that the Sierra Denalis apparently shift differently than the the SUVs w/ the 6 spd. So, you may not need to do all that manual-mode stuff. I've also heard that there is a TSB for the Sierras that is supposed to deal with some shifting issues. So far, I haven't read enough about it to risk taking it to the dealer and maybe making things worse. So, I'll just wait a little while...

Congrats again on the 'nali!

EDIT : OH! I forgot! The picture! Nice looking truck! :)

Very nice looking ride you got there. I kinda wish I went for the 6.0 instead of the 5.3. The 5.3 goes ok, but I want more juice, HEHE.

You got me at first, I thought you bailed on the truck, down to an Aveo, or some econo box, :) lol. I bet you don't miss the old Hoe for long!

I was looking at the 6.0's pretty strong, until I drove the Sierra Denali with the 6.2. For my needs (I don't do a lot of hauling or pulling, but I want something that'll GO), there was no going back for me. I was smitten. I was even more smitten after I drove a RWD 6.2 and I could get it a little loose.

I spend 7 years trying to eek more power out of my 5.3. That was the final reason to go with the 6.2. Unfortunately, I'm thinking exhaust and intake already. I don't think it matters what I start out with....I ALWAYS want more
