2006 V-max Brakes

I was looking through some old posts and found one that said a v-max is supposed to have 4 wheel disc brakes. I have drums on the back....should there be rear discs??

I can't recall the exact setup that yields one rear discs, but it is not a correct statement that all 07 and up NBS come standard with rear discs. Not even all VMAX's come with rear discs. Most NBS trucks, in fact, do not have rear discs. Do some more searching for posts by VMAX2007. He's got some well documented posts that explain the entire situation.

The point is, you didn't get taken or anything, you just didn't have the right combo of options to have the rear discs.

You must have an extended cab without stabilitrak?

Thats why you don't have rear-disc brakes.

To get rear disc brakes you must order the stabilitrak option on extended cabs with the 6-liter (which is standard on crew-cabs,therefore they have rear-disc if they have the 6-liter)

I also see now that you have an '06 GMT800 Classic,Those all had rear drums unless you have a hybrid or an AWD setup (Denali or SS)

I also just noticed you were referring to an '06, sorry. At least when you trade up for that GMT900 you'll know what to order so you get your rear discs next time!!!

I got a feeling i'll have this truck for a few years yet...haha.

Why did you refer to it as classic? I thought Sierra Classic was a different model? I've got an 06 Sierra Crew Cab V-Max Trailering Pack. I have Auto 4x4, but no stabilitrak

What was meant was an '06. The '07 Classic is a GMT800 truck built during the 2007 model year.

I didn't think that the SS had AWD in 06. I thought 04 and up SSes all had RWD.
