Rear Fender Inserts

Installed at dealership. Cost of installation: $89.10 (also free truck wash - and free coffee)

Dealer parts was withing $1.00 of gmpartsdirect. So I purchased them at dealer.

Yes, I could have installed them myself, but I am too tired, lazy, incompetent, dumb, ugly, oh, and did I say lazy?

I really don't know what good they do but it seemed the right thing to do. So I did it.

I installed a set a month ago. It's an easy job and they fit well. It takes a little time to remove the tires, clean, prep, and install but it's worth it to do it right. Will a dealer take the time to wash out the well, rub dry, spray a little Fluid Film before they fit the liners?

Now the truck looks much more impressive when looking at it from the side. Without the liners, the dorky painted wells divert your attention to them.

I did coin/spray wash the inner wheel wells before traveling to dealer. But I drove 45 minutes in a northern climate.

When I set up appointment, I asked that truck be washed BEFORE putting these in. It was agreed by phone service writer. Upon arrival, I again told service writer (different person) to wash first - since there is a free car wash with all service. He agreed. Well . . . I watched. No truck wash before work done. Was I angry! And I told the service writer/person. Oh, he claimed that the mechanic washed wheel well. I looked. No he did not. But that is a battle that I did not want to undertake at that moment. They did wash and dry my new truck in the end. But the idiots did not do what I had asked for. It's as if one has to take these people by the hand. Or sit in truck while work is being done.

Yes, if you can do this yourself. Do it.

What is the part # for the rear wheel well liners?? Dealership has no clue what they are. LOL. I'm hoping a part # will help them out.

Wheel Well Liners: GM#19166677

As pointed out in the other thread, that p/n is for GMC's. Chev Silverado's need p/n 19166676. The boxes are dimentionally different for some strange reason.

why not just rhino line them when you do the bed?

I think I've heard somewhere that that might affect the warranty if the dealer is really pickey about that kind of stuff.

Oops! I apologize. I was not aware that there were different part numbers between the GMC and Chevy lines for this item. Ray, thanks for the correction! It certainly would not be a happy moment if someone ordered and received the wrong item due to my post. The box is rather large and lugging it back-and-forth would not have been too fun!
