07 Silverado Speaker Install (pics)

My buddy polar bear brought by his 07 Silveradio 1500 to install some speakers. He had 2 sets of polk db components he wanted to put in. The car comes stock with tweeters in the pillars but he wanted all the doors to match so the stock tweeters are unhooked. Car has a factory amplified system but in the next month or so thats coming out so we can put in his old 4ch a sub and a Kenwood DNX7100 with all the bells n whistles.

 

Install wasnt too bad, had to make baffles due to the way the factory one is designed and we flushed the tweets into all the doors. Since the front and back doors are a little different they aren't positioned exactly the same, but both back doors and both front doors are in the exact same spots. If anyone has any questions on how these doors come apart etc just let me know.

All and all it actually sounds 100x better then stock but you can tell the factory amp is really holding it back. Enjoy :beer:

i'm surprised it actually sounds better on the stock system? did you just use the speaker wires coming from the stock locations and wire them into the filter?

 

on that little of power its good to hear they took em well, i can imagine you lost bass response though

yeah we tapped into the factory wiring. as far as loosing bass response my buddy said bass was the same. its deff much cleaner and crisper sounding then stock no questions asked. it gets just as loud as the stock did but you can tell its begging for power. a 4 ch will be coming soon, right now hes waiting on the dbl din kenwood
