2004 Silverado Factory Deck Problems

I recently did an aftermarket speaker/amp install in my truck. i had the deck out a couple times during the install. the install is complete now and the cd won't eject. it plays fine but when i push the eject button all i get is a clicking noise.

I have a similar problem with my 04 GMC Envoy. I think it is a somewhat common problem. There is a seller on ebay that offers a one day turn around on fixing this for $100. Here is an ebay item number for the repair 180178425980

 

I'd like to hear from someone who has gotten this fixed before I try it.
