Is It Me Or Does The Paint Suck?

I have scratches all around the truck especially near the door handles. God GM went really cheap with the new body styles. Chips, scratches, never had this problem with a 03 expedition. Also you can see lots of round scratches in the sun :/

Have any other black vehicles or ever owned one before? Or did you get to wax it well before winter hit? Black always shows everything that every other color doesn't plus you've been driving it around in the winter with salt and what not always covering the finish. What till summer and go at with some polish and wax and you'll never be able to tell

definitely the curse of the dark colors...I have always fought it too, and this dark blue will be no exception. Wax and polish...a little work and you will be happy again

I agree...dont blame chevy...its the way you wash it...dry it..etc. Black is hard to keep swirls down on any make vehicle. You need to use microfiber towels for one. You def cannot wash/dry with just any old soap/mit/towel you have lying around.

I've owned a lot of black gm's, and my nbs' black is the best i've seen so far. i think the paint manufacturers have made great strids after the epa handcuffed them a long while back.

Why does everybody blame GM for tires, paint, windsheilds, etc. GM doesnt make the paint, why dont you go blame the tree huggers and eviromentalist for the paint due to them knocking out all the good stuff that made the paint good and hard. Paint is by no means as good as it was years ago on all of the big 3 auto manufacturers including foreign. Black is the worst in showing scratchs and swirl marks including Dark blue.

My NBS 07 LTZ Crew has more than its share of rock hits, I do think that the paint is very thin. My truck is Silver, so thankfully they don`t show up unless you look closely. I am looking into the 3M Clear shield for the front end.

Agree it is once the EPA started regulating paint, the paint seemed to start getting less durable. I invested in the 3M clear bra on both our recent GMs. My wife's Enclave and my Denali. I have seen one rock bounce off my wife's car with no damage at all. I highly recommend it.

Actually, I'm trying to get HER to wear the clear bra. Kind of like that chick in Blade runner
