Alright i bought some Seafoam for the first time, after my shop teacher recmonedned it because i dont have a fuel rail to run an injector cleaner through.

i had approximitly 20-22 Gallons in the tank so i poured the whole bottle in.

Is it really going to help or did i just waste $6

And i was reading the back of the bottle and what would you say about adding it to the crankcase about 50-100 miles before a oil change?

It is a wonderful product and we sell enough of it in a year to float a battleship. Most people find the best results by ingesting it into the intake either via vacum line or by using the Aerosol version (Deep Creep) and spraying it through the throttle body.

That's the way I've read it being done, but I'm too much of a chicken-s%*t to do it. I've heard of cylinders being dropped because they ran too lean with the stuff. I don't know anybody who's personally done it.

do a search and you'll find how to do it. If you want a uper detailed write-up I can get it for you from the corvette forum. This stuff is awesome.

well, quit being a chicken s**t and do it... running lean is not the issue. hammer locking the motor is. if you let it be drawn in easy, and you listen to the motor when it starts to die pull it out of the can a little. DO NOT let it the hose submerge into the liquid, and you will be fine

good luck

What do you guys think about putting in the crankcase of this 18 year old truck, im sure it will clean it up a little bit, im thinking it cant hurt, i dont know what the inside of the motor looks like it hasnt been apart yet, but i know there are 140,000 miles on it. so im trying to do everything i can to make it last longer.

Im also thinking of mixing about 1/2 pint to 6 gallon can for the 4 wheeler. It isnt old (4 wheeler is 07 grizzly 700) but isnt it like a fuel additive? IDK OPINIONS PLEASE

I am not big on running it in a crankcase, especially on an older engine. I firmly believe oil is an "engineered product" and any chemical you add to it could possbily upset the chemical balance of the oil causing a chemical mess. Not to say there is not a time and place for some additives but just to clean up an older engine would not be something I would suggest.

SF is great in small engines like ATVs Mowers etc. It is a good fuel stabilizer and will disperse moisture as well.

As far as locking an engine up with improper use, it can happen if you let too much be pulled in through a vacum line at one time. What can happen is one or more of the cylinders will pull in more liquid than it can displace and as you know, a liquid cannot be compressed. If the liquid does not compress, you will end up with bent rods or busted pistons. This is very unlikely especially if you let it be pulled in slowly. This is one of the reasons I like Deep Creep, the aerosol version.

I am going to do this on my 03 very soon. I have read many of the topics on this. I know I will have to change my oil once I do the seafoam. I am alos read in some place I have to change my spark plugs. Is this ture? I just changed my plugs and didn't want to do it again. Thanks

Very rarely would you need to change the plugs after a SF treatment. There are some occasions where it could foul the plugs but this does not happen often.

so instead of dipping the pcv hose into the can, pour the Seafoam into the hose and when it stumbles, back off?
