Leaking Coolant!

okay well i noticed the other day that my truck left me some real nice puddles of coolant on the garage floor!

 

 

i haven't taken a look at the truck yet except for a small peak! but i think i found the problem is anybody familiar with what hose this is thats leaking all of this coolant?

I'm almost positive that its coming from that small black tube thats running under the block and above that now coolant doused rod... i don't know what that tube is tho? any ideas! I'm gonna take a look tomorrow but any of your help would be MUCH appreciated!!!

 

o yeah and before anyone asks... its -10 here right now...I've been up for 23 hours straight as of 10 pm... so I'm hitting the hay but thats why i haven't taken a look at it in deeper detail... just trying to get some ideas!

Most prolly the water pump gasket. They will usually stop leaking after the motor warms up.

Mine was leaking, luckily under warranty. They did a pressure check and found it was the water pump SEAL, not the gasket. Also was leaking from the galley plug on the block. Good luck.

thanks for your help guys! i truly appreciate it, i wont have time to tear it down til tomorrow... still only 5 degrees here but supposed to be round 40 on Sunday! I wonder if the loud hissing and the soft whine that i was experiencing about 2 weeks back when she was sounding kind of sick. i also wonder if its got something to do with how cold its been lately... most people around here cant even get there trucks started... it was like -20 the other night supposedly? but yeah.. thanks for all of your help and keep the info coming! thats why i love this forum so much!

gm is infamous for leaking water pumps....at least every one ive ever had :/
