Are you talking about the black dash panel on the left side where the DIC buttons are?

 

If so, does that piece just pull off, there are no screws?

 

Asking because I have a very annoying rattle there (and I'm not one of those OCD people about rattles - but this one's bad) so was thinking of pulling that panel off and putting some felt pads behind there or something. Didn't want to start pulling on it until I know for sure if there are screws holding it on somewhere.

that's what i'm talking about. There are no screws that hold it in place. There are 6 clips that hold it in -five below the vent and one above. i'll post a pic in a minute.

here are pics. you can see the 6 metal clips that hold it in place. just pull gently and it will pop off. Maybe massage it out a little.
