07 (new) Sierra - Switching To Heated Power Leather

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I bought a 7000 mile 07 Sierra 1500 Ext Cab (New Shape) with fabric interior 1 month ago. ($18,500 on Ebay)

I picked up a full set of 2007 (New Shape) Silverado 2500 black power heated leather seats ($500) and intend to switch them over.

It appears that the heated seat controls are not included - I need to buy a pair of door mounted switch panels.

Question 1: Are the power hookups waiting for me under the carpets (like the old S-10s) or am I getting myself into a world of sh*t.

Question 2: Is the heat wiring waiting for me in the door? - bearing in mind this is a pretty basic work truck.

Thanks in advance to the enlightened soles who answer!

I am a little surprised - all you had to do was talk to a parts department at any GM truck dealership - and you would get the answers you needed BEFORE you bought the seats. This is still your best bet.

Sorry I don't have an answer to your question. But where did you get the seats for $500? Are they the 40/20/40 split or buckets? Obviously this is the whole seat assembly right? not just covers.

I also thought of putting leather heated seats in if I could find a set for the right price. If memory serves there were some extra plugs by the door controls when I had my door panels off. I would think the wiring is there you would need the control pod for the door panels. Let us know how it works out.

Yup, you can pick up an entire set in Ebay Motors (car and truck parts). Must be a few of the new shape vehicles being written off....Probably because of those those crappy drum brakes they fit on the rear!

There are always Gray, black or tan sets available for $500 - $1000 for everything including the jump seat.

Replacement leather covers cost $500 on Ebay - so if you can pick up a set of seats for the same money (+ $217 shipping) its a no brainer.

The GM parts department are bafoons in overalls.

Even if it's not plug and play I'm going to make it happen. Cold cloth sucks!

Nice Find! The seats in mine are the last missing link in my restoration before I start upgrades!
