RBos05Z71 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Hello everyone, just purchased a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE z71. It has the bose stereo 6 disc, and was wondering how to get the ipod integrated with the head unit without using a wireless fm transmitter. Thanks Ray
firefighteremt3100 Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 I've got an 04 with the same setup, had to use the fm transmitter for now. Not sure if we can do that with the bose setup. I thought I had read somewhere we'd have to replace the head unit with something with an iPod input.
tigerbait Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 check out USA Spec and PAC audio....im pretty sure they have an Bose OEM integration option for Ipods
RBos05Z71 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks. Do you have any idea on quality?
Diabs Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 "If that's all you want the tape player for, you should know that there are several aftermarket adapters (i.e. PAC, PIE, Peripheral, and USA Spec) that allow you to connect your iPod directly to your stock radio. Not only will the sound quality be MUCH better, but you'll also be able to charge and control your iPod from your stereo." I just purchased the Peripheral adapter....mind u I went with a whole new deck.....but u can buy just the adapter for the OEM radio. The sound is perfect, just like the stock set-up. Depending if u have On-Star, will determine price factor.
RBos05Z71 Posted February 10, 2008 Author Posted February 10, 2008 Onstar is a factor, nice. I just purchased this truck. It has the Bose 6 disc in dash, no tape player, unless it is hidden. I will check out those companies. Thanks!! Ray
