Crank Learn Code

I have a friend with a custom built Hot Rod . It has a 2005 LS6 Corvette engine installed. I noticed it was running extremely rich [black smoke] until it warmed up . So i checked for codes and found a code for Crank Learn incomplete or something to that effect. I don't have the code # right now. What does is this Crank learn procedure Do and will it make this engine run That rich on warm up? any ideas ?

hey man, ic no one has replied yet. I'm not too familiar, but i have done research with getting a custom tuned computer. I guess a crank relearn is done with a new computer mated to an engine. Take it to the dealership or if you know a local guy with a i think Gen 3 scanner, it takes about 5mins to do a relearn. I know the engine will run a lot smoother and needs to be done if it's throwing an error code. good luck man. let me know what happens
