Rear Backing Plates

Anyone have part #'s for these on an 02 Sierra 1500 4WD? Tried looking them up on GM-PartsDireact and P&G Cevy....no luck. Parts not listed. Any suggestion? Where else might I look? Thanks guys(and Gals)

I did a little research and this is a part # I came up with. It does work in GMPartsDirect and I think it is for the 1999-2004. Try it and let everyone else know. I have a 2000 Sierra but I live in the South and mine aren't bad at all (at least right now).

Hope these are the right ones for you. Please post your removal/replacement of these backing plates once you're done so everyone can get a chance to see how tough/easy this project is.

IIRC mine were only about $35 each from a dealer. Took me about 5 times longer to do the first side compared to the second. Much easier after you understand the process.

Well I decided to take it apart and have a look before ordering parts. Turns out it is the splash shield that is gone not the backing plates. I am assuming you have to remove the axle to replace these as well? Glad I looked and didn't take the word of the local mechanic tard. Glad I didn't pay them th close to 400 they wanted to repair too. What was happening is the e brake shoes are rattling around and chattering on the drum. I took em off til I get the parts. Any advice?
