got an 07 classic limited edition.has the 5 spoke chrome wheels that are not holding up well in new england. 2 wheels are good 2 wheels are pitting and some of the chrome is starting to peel off. wash it every week and apply eagle metal polish once a month. anyone else with this problem? i hope gm plans on replacing them under warranty.

That should be able to be replaced under warranty. I wouldnt see why not. They should be shining with it that new, now I could see if was your 2002 vehicle, then they definately would not make good for it, but they should take care of that for you.

Maybe they can get a nice set of 28" ones for you .

I have seen chrome on aftermaket chromed wheels, like Cragar wheels, peel early, which means a lousy chrome job. They should replace your wheels no questions asked. Do not expect the new ones to be better though. If I were you, I would trade for a good set of aluminum alloy non-chromed wheels.

They should warranty them. I can understand a little pitting in harsh winter conditions but they certainly should not peel. Peeling is from inferior chrome plating. Let us know what happens.

GM has had this problem before. I had this happen to two model year 2002 F-body vehicles. The chrome just started to flake off, and these were genuine GM wheels. I was hoping they had fixed this by now.
