Ecu Problem?

The other day I started the truck and noticed the E-Brake and ABS lights were on, something I've seen happen with my 04 alero, and is usually fixed by turning off the vehicle and starting it again, I tried this in the truck and it worked. Then today I was driving and noticed when I let off the gas and coasted the revs would fluxuate 50-100 revs, so small that you couldnt see it on the tach, but could hear it and slightly feel it, applying the gas got rid of the problem, and I havn't been able to replicate it. After parking the truck a few hours I got in and started it, and while driving down the driveway and braking noticed the wheels were locked up and I was sliding, looked down and saw the E-brake and ABS lights on again, not good. So I stopped the truck put it in park, and back in drive and the lights went away for about 30 seconds before coming back on while driving, then while watching the lights, all my gauges died, the battery light came on, even the deck displayed a remove faceplate message, but the kicker is the truck is still running normally, and 2 seconds later everything comes back on and the battery light goes away. I have an appointement tomorrow at 10 to get the oil changed and I'll have them check it out, but in the meantime I checked that the ECU was secure, and the wires had sealed properly, the battery was tight and disconnected my amp in case that was causing a short... If anyone can think of anything I havnt please let me know.

Thanks,

Jon

Also, I have a W4M tune. The truck runs fine now.

try resetting the computer by unplugging the battery (preferably overnight) and then plug it back in....just a suggestion

I'll giver a try and hope it works, sometimes the truck just likes screwing with me, like the time the fuel pump failed, took it out, put it back in and has never given me trouble since... (I know probably a loose connection but still... lol)

Thanks Mike.

Turns out it was where I decided to pull the power for my amp from. I had it hooked into the positive box where the alternator hooks up, and it had come loose and was shorting, therefore the truck was losing the positive connection temporarily. Thankfully I didn't get any spikes from this that killed the ECU, I decided instead of taking the easy way out to now go out and buy a proper battery post. Hope this helps someone else!

Thanks again mike for the idea.
