Should I Bring It In?

I have a rear end clunk coming from my truck. It makes it upon acceleration from a dead stop and also when the rear tires are spinning in the snow and they get traction quick it will make the clunk. I'm almost positive its the slip yoke. I had made an appointment with my local dealer to get it checked out before I found out it was my slip yoke. I only have the 60 day warrenty offered by the dealer. Is it worth my time going down there for that? Thanks guys

Yes, I would definitly have the dealer check it out.

If they make an adjustment & it does it again in a few months they will cover their work.

When in dought have your dealer check it out.

If your spinning and it makes a clunk, that is most likely the limite slip rear end. Mine does it too and the dealer said its normal. Take it in and get it documented so that if it turns out to be something, you can have some ammo.

It's probably your slip yoke. Mine did the same thing and was bad at 30K miles The dealer replaced it with a nickel plated slip yoke. If it's bad, it could also rear-end to bid when coming to a stop and it sounds like the leaf springs are sqeaking. If it is under warranty, there is harm in taking it in to have them check it.

Have them replace it with the nickel plated slip yoke. I did this on my 04 silverado, and it was a night and day difference.

Thanks for the replys. Its only a 60 day warrenty thats on the vehicle. I did mention that it had a clunk upon test driving it and when I picked it up it was gone. I'm wondering if they will charge me to look at it but maybe not seeing I mentioned it upon test driving. I don't want to get hit with any kind of bill. My dealer isn't the best and they sure don't go out of there way for customer service.
