I just did a 2.5" front lift (Truxxx 2"-3" keys) on my truck and put a set of Skyjacker 1.5" add-a-leafs in the rear. The ride is still good and the truck sits about perfect, about 1" higher in the rear empty, and will probably be about level when carrying a load or towing. Using a higher block in the rear would give you the same lift and a stock ride, but I like the add-a-leaf because it makes me feel better having one more leaf when I'm hauling a load of firewood. If you go the add-a-leaf route, you may need longer than stock u-bolts since the leaf will add at least a half inch of thickness to the springpack. My stock u-bolts were 9.5" long, and I got 10.5" long u-bolts from Skyjacker just to be on the safe side.

Go with the blocks and u-bolts unless you actually need the add-a-leaf for towing or something. The extra leaf is also going to firm up the ride and can make the rear end bounce a bit more when you don't have a load. The blocks are normally the way to go.

2 inch blocks won't harm a thing and it is the most ride preserving and inexpensive way to go.

Dumb question, who sells the rear add-a-leaf kits and what part #s usually fit a NBS Silverado? Been looking but haven't found any specifics.

If you do hardcore off-roading or towing blocks can be added stress causing axle-wrap. I have seen people do 4"+ lifts using blocks. That is a major no-no. I prefer add-a-leaf just for the fact that there is no chance for increasing axle wrap, plus added cargo capacity.

That's the one thing that scares me about adding a bigger block. Going from a 2" to a 3" block shouldn't be too bad though...

If using blocks for the added height. Do you stack the blocks? i.e factory 2" plus the lift block, lets say a 2". or replace the factory block and use a 4" block?

I wouldn't recommend stacking blocks. A 4" block is better then two 2" blocks. 4" is alot of lift with just blocks, you may want to add-a-leaf and leave the single 2" block.
