Gas Mileage

Took my first road trip this past weekend and averaged about 16mpg. Thought I might have been able to get a little better with A.F.M. but oh well. Does anybody know how many more miles you can go after the driver info center (not the gas light) tells you that you are low? My driver info center said I had 30 miles left and then it just changed to low gas and would not show the miles anymore.

Well if it doesn't even tell you how many miles you've got left, you run the risk of your truck stalling it's going at a downhill grade.

It happened to me recently, as I went to drop off my nephew who lives on a downhill street, before he got off, we talked for about 5-10 min as my truck idled. Suddenly it just died. I had to roll down in N for a few blocks to where it was level, wait a couple of mins and then turned it on, just enough to get to a gas station a few blocks away (with my nephew following in his car, just in case).

First and last time I'll ever run outta gas. Can't be good for the fuel system either.

I got about 440 outta my tank once, however I was following a friend to a race and he had an enclosed trailer,so I tailgated him and it stayed in v4 for most of the time...usually 370 though, however in the last 2 months it dropped to 330 running it almost out

Gentlemen,

I fill up at 400 miles and get a calculated 18 to 19 mpg in mixed driving summer or winter in central hilly Arizona. I squeak the tires every day and rarely miss my place in the stoplight grand prix. 5.3 with 3.73 gears. Getting off the throttle when the light 1 block away turns red. Saves gas and brakes. Drive "ahead of the vehicle". There needs to be a pronounced "coast" phase to city driving. Not just gas and instantly brake. I find this concept to be very important.

Hmmm. Im getting about 340 per tank. Thats with about 60/40 city/high. I try to get some coasting in there. Truck only had 470 miles on it so not broken in yet along with winter gas will affect that number.

Im getting around 500kms per approx 85 litres of fuel.

Can someone convert to miles per gallon?

Im thinking I'm getting terrible milage.

According to my dic i get 14.9 mpg and i drive city only. I'm confused though, my DIC says i will have 60 miles left till empty, so 4 gallons but the gauge will be on E ><

13.8 MPG

Holy crap that stinks..........got to be something going on with my truck......I drive it relatively easy and mostly highway miles.........no error codes or messages in my DIC.......could the 02 sensors affect it that much?
