Speedometer Stuck

Are there any TSB's out for an '05 2500HD Duramax concerning a stuck speedometer.

Cruise was set at 70 for approx. 45 minutes and hasn't been the same since.

The Hour meter has appearently reset itself also. Help.

Post the last 8 of your VIN and current mileage and I will check for you.

Last 8 of the VIN 5F863988.

The GMC dealer in Baytown, TX informed that the 2005's were not included in any recall at this time.

 

Mileage is 69400.

First, it is not a recall, it is a special policy which means they will cover the repair past the base warranty based on what ever conditions are set in the policy. Second, yours does not qualify, but I have a feeling that in the near future that may change. I would call GM and complain that yours is doing this and that you are aware of the policy for the older trucks. If enough people complain, they may do something.

Is there an 800 number to call. I'm close to 70,000 miles also as you can see. Could this be an issue? Thanks for the reply. My apologies for calling it a "recall".

I am in Canada, so I am unsure of the proper channels in the USA. As for the Recall, Most people are not aware of the difference, so no problem.
