Tailgate Question

Quick question, is the tailgate on the nnbs supposed to lock on both sides of the tailgate. I ask because I noticed that one side is not quite flush with the body when shut. I noticed that when I shut it I can hear the right side (side that is flush) snap shut but not the left. I can also see the mechanism engage fully on the right but not the left. Just curious before I bring it in as I can already hear them tell me that this is normal. It is a very minor problem for me, but I have several minor problems I will already be bringing it in for.
