Spring is here and time to swap out the stock wheels for sharp Chrome aftermarkets!

 

I have searched all the threads and there are some very sharp combo's out there - I was hoping that someone has, or has seen, these wheels from RollingBig Power. I am head over heels for either the T903 or T904 in Chrome w/ Black Inserts. Links below:

Some help from all you smart guys with great looking trucks:

 

1) anyone seen these in person (or own them!??!?!)

2) Do you like the 903's or 904's better (assume 20" with some brand of AT's wrapping them)?

3) My local tire and wheel dude is having trouble coming up with a fitment for my truck - so I may have to go another route :crackup: ! Anyone have thoughts on a "similar" look that is known to fit NBS K1500?

4) I know I could do some more searching - so don't :rollin: me - but what is the tallest/widest I can go with on my truck @ stock height - and what can I jump to with a 2" or 3" lift??

 

Thanks for all the help. I spend most of my time working on and forum chatting regarding my Camaro's and old school muscle - so still learning the truck ropes a bit. Info and wisdom mucho appreciated!

Those look nice, but I am not a fan of the black inserts. I think they'd look better (and last longer) without the inserts.

 

Here is what I got, similar look without the inserts. This is a 20" wheel with the 8 lugs. The 18" size I got looks better with the shorter spokes IMO.

I actually saw a <whisper>Ford F-150</whisper> Limited yesterday in a nice white with aluminum 20" wheels that had the inner bevels of the spokes painted to match. It looked really damn nice, to be honest. The L I M I T E D decal splattered down the bed side looked tacky but the wheels looked great. If your truck is black, this might look okay. You can never go wrong with all crhome though, unless of course, you go with those dinky little 18's like Jeff did. J/K :crackup:

Oh no, I have unleashed the 20" vs. 18" wheel debate!

 

J/K, I know opinions vary on this. Personally, I don't care much for the 20"'s when they are wrapped in low profile LS2's - but I think they look good with a larger profile AT with a lot more sidewall - and that is what I am planning to do with my truck.

 

As for the black inserts - my truck is RED not black, but with a fair amount of black on the truck (door handles/mirrors/some trim/etc.) I think the inserts will look sharp and set off the chrome.

 

Jeff - your 18" Ultra's look sharp - if I can't get RBP's that fit I might be headed for those.

 

Anyone else have any input? Thanks.

T903 looks good but it looks like it would weigh a ton! Weight is a big factor in fuel economy and ride quality... keep that in mind. Oh, and I recommend the Pirelli Scorpion ATR 275-55-20. I have them and love them!

Jim - just looked at your Scorpion's on Tire Rack - great tire, I may give them a look when I get the wheels figured out!

Not sure? But mine are 285/65R18's and BARELY fit with my Truxxx 2-1/2" lift, 1" rear. My tires measure about 32.5" x 10.5" They actually come within 1/8" of rubbing at full lock.

      I have thought an EV might have some practical value in extending the life of the ICE members of ones fleet. Now....I'm convinced of it. I've been letting my better half access Raven (Mitsubishi Mirage) for her needs while Dizzy has been in the shop. Being the fuel freak I am and given the fact Raven is capable of over 60 mpg in clean air on a warm day I was taken back by the wife's ability to take a car that had used a half a tank of gas that to that point had returned a value of 57 mpg and return in with a decimating 51 mpg for that same tank in that same day in a 15 mile round trip of short hop errands and a stop in the drive through at Micky D's.  😱   Trust me on this. It would take the remainder of that tank driven on the highway to return that tank to just 54 mpg. This is not a Mitsubishi issue. This is an ICE issue that is magnified in vehicles capable of such high fuel economy values. On a percentage basis your 1500 does the same thing. Short hopping an ICE consumes a good deal more fuel and in doing so provides zero additional useable outputs. That entire volume of fuel is wasted in diluting the cylinder walls oil films, creating crankcase moisture and acid content and the resultant wear.    Enter the SLATE. All of that is avoided and the ICE's advantage in range and made useful at reduced wear for your ICE!   Kind'a cool.

      Back in the day people would buy cars based on performance. The charger posted does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. And it’s fully loaded.  It has a decent warranty and will fit most anyone’s needs. Remember the original Hemi? 90 day warranty. 25K mini truck or that car? I’d go with the car. It wouldn’t fit my perimeter. If I could just talk my wife out of her Genesis. It would be perfect for her.

      Let's pivot this back. Someone said they wanted pictures.   Even better, there's already video. Pre-prod prototypes are already on the road and they're letting the press drive them.   JerryRigEverything did a good review. I really enjoy his content and EV adventures, so I was thrilled when he had the chance to review a Slate:

      The Charger EV was stillborn. Wrong car at the wrong price for Dodge's intended audience. Now at a good price with fire-sale discounts, and still not selling, it's still very much the wrong car. Again, Dodge's intended audience. I believe a lot of Stellantis' EV blunders were all under Tavares' regime at Stellantis...the board convinced him to move on. Neat car, just wasn't received on the level that would sustain mass production.   Dodge is headed in a better direction for its core business. I didn't think there was anything left to get excited about re: the Durango after its 15 year run, but they're just now releasing a 392 version that should price out in the low 40's. Nicely done. I'm not sure I would touch anything Stellantis makes with a 10' pole these days, but the Durango is still mostly parts designed like 3 parent companies ago so maybe it's still OK?
