Navigation Installation

I just hooked up a Navigation Unit on my 07 SIlverad (LTZ Package, RSE, Bose Sound you name it I got it). Installation went fine. Had to take to dealer to get system programmed. I now have no OnStar or XM. Any help I could get would greatly be appreciated. Part #on Nav unit is 15940102. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

as far as XM you may need to call them so that they can update the SID number for your new radio. As far as OnStar I have no clue.

Thanks for the reply. What has me baffled is there is no XM tab on screen. Navigation. AM/Fm, CD & DVD are working. I will try what you recommended and keep posted my replies.

Try double checking the plugs in the back of the Headunit it my be loose.

That was my first thought especially after I got back from the dealer and they has the ""THEFT LOCK"" message removed. They got everything up and running but couldn't get ""static out of system"". Got home and guess what, the attenna wasn't plugged in all the way. After closer examination of unit I beleived I received a non xm/onstar capable product. Talked to seller on Ebay and they are to send me the right one next week, Which will be fine so my wiring from JP customs will be in. Look like I got another weekend project. Will keep updates. :uhoh:

My understanding is that when replacing a radio with another, the XM must also be programmed at the same time by the dealer. Otherwise, the new radio will not have the XM connected to it by the software.

 Got my replacement Nav Unit installed. Went to dealer and they reprogrammed it for me. Technician was even cool enough to let me watch. Installed a Loc Pic so my wife can watch a movie while I enjoy the comfort of my SILVERADO!
