Hydraulic Mounts

I was reading an article about the new Silverado hybrid and they mentioned that a second hydrualic mount was added to it to give it a smoother ride. So, my question is, What is a hydraulic mount?

may bean motor mounts, many of the caddy cars have fluid filled motor mounts. does a bit better than just 2 pieces of metal stuck to rubber. acts literally like a shock for the motor

Heres the excerpt from the article. "Along with quietness, the Silverado Hybrid also delivers exceptional driving smoothness, thanks to specifically tuned shocks for its Z85 suspension and a new, hydraulic body mount. Located on the passenger-side of the chassis, the hydraulic mount provides a dramatic improvement in highway driving smoothness, particularly on rough or choppy road surfaces."

Sounds like the body mount changed to me. I bet it isn't hard to retro fit to other models. Just one side seems odd. When they hit the lots some one needs to scope this out. I'd also bet this is one of those need little things that magically disappears on later model years, like under hood lights.

ah gotcha now. the escalade hybrid will prolly have this as well. we dont have those yet tho. the tahoe hybrids are out so maybe a chev dealer employee can speak up

This spposedy applies to the Silverado, with different mounts than the Tahoe's at least some of them. It also said that this was a second one of these mounts, does this mean that some Silverado's already have one of these?

Yeah I really cant figure out what it would be. I asked one of my friends who know a lot about stuff like this, but he just kinda guessed that it might be some sort of hydraulic ram that helps absorb the vibratons from the road better then say just a normal rubber one. If it is something like this, it would have to be kinda small because you dont want it bouncing the whole cab around or anything like that.
