Sub Box?

So i want a single 10" or single 12" sub box in my 08 silverado 1500 extended cab new body style truck. Saw the 10" at subthump.com so far, ebay seems to have only the old style. Anyone reccomend any other place or has specs to build under the rear seat? Also i was told the stereo is amplified at 200 watts which is loud enough for me. But since i want to add a amp for the subs, can i tap off the rears using a speaker to rca adapter? WIll that be fine? I use to have a system in both previous cars that had 1900 watts, 20 speakers the works but im done with that. I might replace the speakers in my new truck at some point since i still have all the high end brand speakers yet. But right now i want just a sub box. If i did duals, i have no place to put the amp, maybe behind the rear seat if that folds down which i dont know if it does or not yet. I just got the truck a few weeks ago. thanks  Kevin

I have the same problem with my08 ext. cab and what I have found is the only good way to go is with 1 or 2 10's. I bought a loaded box off ebay that had 2 12's in it and the box was crap and didn't fit right. As I looked further into it the subs that came in the box required 1.25 quibic ft. of air space per sub and the box only had .60 qubic ft. of space. I tried to design and build one to suit but whith the limitted space under the seat and the complex floor pan it just wasn't worth it. If you do buy a box I would definatly go with subthump, the owner steve is very nice spoke to a couple of times about my 12'' sub problem and he said with the NBS trucks you realy can't get a good sounding 12. Hope this helps, and on another note the seats don't fold down but their is room to mount your amps behind the seat. and I there is a kit or something you can install to make them fold down. Ask subthump about it.

I would go with sub thump. There boxes sound good. I put two jl audio twelves in my crew cab in a sub thump box at it sounds great! I have a pro box for two twelves that came out of my 2000 ext cab that jammed. Not sure if it would fit an 08.

Cool thanks for the advice, waiting to hear back from Steve from subthump. Since im using the factory radio, anyone know if the 08 silverados stock units are amplified? I was told it was a 200 watt system. Since im using the stock radio to add a amp, i have wire in a speaker wire to rca adapter and tap off the rear speakers. The turnon should i just a 2nd ignition accessory to turn the amp on? thanks!

So with my 08 extended cab, i can still fit a amp and cap back behind the seat then? I have a rockford fosgate, two of them but just going to use one for the subs. I was going to go with just the one 10" sub box and put the amp on passenger side under the seat. Think the one would be good enough for some bass, or better off with two 10"s?

No I bought from hifisoundconnection and would not recomend them to my worst enemy. They have horriable customer service and the boxes are truly junk.

So which person to go for getting a box from, the guy on ebay for $150 for two 10's

http://cgi.ebay.com/07-08-Chevy-Silverado-...1742.m153.l1262

or subthump for $220 or $240 depending if i want a box with the amp in the middle? If i dont theres more cubic airspace and a bit more mounting depth. Im concerned with the guy from ebay may not have enough mounting depth for a variety of subs?

http://www.subthump.com/crb07.htm

ebay .65 cubic air space

5.25 mounting depth for $150 shipped

or subthump .83 cubic air space

6.5 mounting depth for $210 shipped

or box with amp inbetween for .6 cubic air space

6.5 mounting depth for $220.00

Which one would you guys go for?? I can put the amp under the seat or behind seat as a possibility as a factor.
