wow! that looks like the first truck I ever drove. I was helping my neighbor bail hay, and he asked me if I wanted to try and drive it. I said hell yeah. I could barely reach the pedals. I think I was all of 12 yrs old way back in '72.

Had to do a little bit of work on it last night, getting ready to haul some more hay over the week end. I rebuilt the top of the front doors, and put new clearance lights on the platform. Filled it up with gas too. Value doubled. LOL.

What drivetrain does that thing have? I remember you saying when you started the project but I couldn't remember. Duramax conversion would be cool. Can't wait to see it painted.

235 I-6, SM420 transmission. I should rename it to a SG-420, instead of synchro mesh it should be synchro grind, it doesn't synchronize very well. After a few test drives over the week end I think it needs a little tune up, it misses under load at high rpm's. I'll probably be rebuilding the carb, and putting in new plugs. Might pick up 1/2 a horsepower, a 25% increase. It's rated at 109 hp, new.

Wow...6 cylinder. Plans for a drivetrain swap?

What a beauty. Ive gota 58 like that with a grain box on it. I like the term synchro grind. Describes that tranny perfectly.
