Yeah I think its kinda interesting that BMW would be considering that. Well really the only reason they are doing it is to make money. But, I doubt they will sell any gasoline engines to GM, I bet that GM is mostly looking into BMW's small diesels that they use un Europe. But it would be cool to get the twin turbo-charged V8 that produces like 450 HP.

I agree with you steve ,there's no need for gm buying gas or flex engines from whoelse ,the gm powertrain is self-sufficient ! only small diesels would be okay ,because it woudn't require much time on designing and building them.

Anything is possible !!!!!!!!!!!

And remember bmw, rolls royce and a few other europe luxo barge cars

use a GM auto transmission.

Rolls started using GM auto units back in the 50s

(Quote from a RR site: General Motors had produced the first fully automatic transmission: the Hydramatic, which had been offered as an option in Oldsmobiles in 1940. Rolls-Royce could not afford to develop its own and it assessed the Hydramatic against such competition as existed at the time. Although a mass-produced item, it proved to be extremely well-built, reliable and even cheap and the company placed a long-term contract with General Motors. It had been available as an option in the Silver Dawn/ R Type from 1952 and it continued virtually unchanged in the Silver Cloud. )

Rolls used plenty of GM parts in the 80/90s like auto trans, a/c-heating cooling systems,

steering wheels and columns, electrical systems and parts and heck even GM-Delco

stereos!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much better than the Lucas junk electrics and those POS Borg-Warner units that were

used in the earlier Rollers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you ever get a chance eyeball a 80/90s Roller up close and be amazed........................
