2001 Ext Cab Long Box 4x4 Payload Capacity With Helpers

Hey guys need some more info ;hope you can help? I'm thinking of purchasing a 2001 ext cab sierra 1500 4x4 long box and need to know what the max payload capacity would be. I do tree work on the weekends and need a truck to blow wood chips into. I intend on putting airshock overloaders on the front and maxloader helpersprings on the back and heavy ply tires . I know the truck is on the light side for a full time tree truck but I'm just a weekend warrior; don't want the milage of the 6l 2500 series. The truck is a commuter vehicle through the week and as I said ;tree truck on the weekend. Generally I pull the chip load off the same day usually 6 -8 miles from the job site. As you can see my need for payload capacity is only a short distance.Any opinions on how far I can push it safely? PS thanks to all on the response to my post yesterday! Oh I should mention weight of truckload of chips can weigh 2300-2900lbs!

Unless they're wet I can't see wood chips stressing a 1500.

According to the Chevy site, a 2006 Extended Cab Long Bed 4x4 has a payload capacity of 1,168lbs which seems really, really low to me but that's what it says. Hopefully a 2001 is a lot more if you're expecting 2400lbs.

a 2001 has only about 1700 pound payload.
