Removing Pen Ink From Silverado Roof Lining?

anyone had any experience removing pen ink from the roof lining of a 2008 Silverado? the interior roof lining is some kind of perforated material and i got some pen ink on mine. need to know a good way to try and remove it.

 

any help would be appreciated.

WD40, brake parts cleaner, bug & tar remover, just not sure if they'll harm anything.

if you can get hold of a steam machine the small ones it would cause any damage i wouldnt recomend any caustic cleaners

Lifter 1 is one of the best stain removers I have ever seen for carpet or cloth. The problem with any of it is if you use one type of cleaner and it does not remove it, it seems to set the stain and makes it almost impossible to get out.

 

I cannot promise you Lifter 1 will get it out, but it is by far the best we sell.

I've found that the original dry cleaning fluid, mineral spirits, to be very effective.

what about the magic eraser?

the magic eraser might leave a lighter stain.... hairspray works great on getting ink stains out...

think I would take it to a good auto detailer and ask them to take it out, I am sure they have dealt with ink before. DAve

If it is light ink marks then it might come out. If it is dark ink and in there pretty good, get used to seeing discoloration.

it was actually just a very light mark. the pen just brushed up against it. i tried the goo gone extreme and followed the directions and it took the ink right out. i tested the stuff out on another area of the liner to make sure it wouldn't fade or bleach the color of the liner. has been drying for a few hours and looks ok. hopefully it won't bleach it after a few days of soaking in there.
