Well in a way it is and in a way it isn't. I used Krylon plastics to be able to bond, then used a primer gray for base, then duplicolor rim metallic rim paint with a light mist of metallic flakes topped with a clear coat

OK here it is on the engine stand after I finished the rebuild.

and it is close to vintage Chevy engine orange....

The last time I took pictures of my engine compartment of my '07 was when it was being repaired last year. I'd be willing to bet if I could remember where my hood release was, it would be just as filthy. I normally do a decent amount of off road work with it.
