Bed Rail Cap Problem

I had to take off my caps because the tape wasn't sticking at the end very well, I tried to slip a piece of 3m double sided tape I got from lowes but it didnt work to well, is there some other kind of 3m I don't know about or should I just clean it off and try again.

on my old truck i knew they werent going to stick either so i bought post hole tie downs, but bed rails would not only look cool they would hold down your bed rail caps

Well the middle part of it stuck like a mofo, it was hard to even take it off. The endings just didn't want to stay, probably cause i lifted it up once before i put them all the way down. I'm looking online but I can't find the strips of 3m just the liquid.

you will probably have to re-tape the whole thing...... clean with isopropyl and use a heat gun and heat the #$%& out of it the softer the tape the better it sticks

I use the Automotive 3M double sided tape that you can find at most auto stores, its works great just put alot of pressure on it after you apply it and it will stay, just make sure its 60 degrees or warmer before you put it on or it wont adhere the right way.

Yep, you want the 3m black automotive trim tape that has the red release liner. I've never looked for it at the auto parts store but every body shop has it and it's about $50 roll for the 1" wide tape (I think a roll is 100ft). I usually only need a few inches of the stuff for my small projects, so I go to the stereo shop I used to work at and cut off a piece.
