Step Bars

Hey all, Just got some money back from the government. Yay for income tax.

Anyways, I was planning on getting some step bars for the 'ol truck. Probably OEM bars, and the round ones, not the oval ones. I've checked online and there seem to be 2 styles, Black and Chrome.

The black ones are a little over $300, and the chrome ones are probably double that.

Since I've got a black truck, I think the black bars would look good. I wouldn't mind some opinions as to what bars to get. Thanks!

"Yay for income tax." ????

I'd rather that the government didn't take it in the first place. That way, they wouldn't have to spend 20% of the refund to process sending it back to me.

Oh, my opinion would be black step bars. But, your opinion is what counts for your truck. I'm hoping for some for Father's Day.

I went with black and they were a bit cheaper. A few things to keep in mind though. If your going to be doing a fair amount of gravel driving, you will want to paint the back of the bars behind the rear step with a spray on liner in a can or a rocker panel paint as they will chip pretty quick. I just took mine off to do that. When I did, there was some rust coloured water that came out. Ive only had them a few months. If you have some used oil at your disposal, I would reccomend filling em up with it then draining them. It should effectively coat the inside and keep them in better shape inside.

makes sure you get stainless black... and not steel painted black or they will be rusted out within a year
