That is true but most of the cost of a gallon of gas in more expensive countries is actually taxes. Higher fuel costs are part of it but at 8 bucks a gallon in Europe, the TAXES are around $5.00 per gallon.

 

Another interesting fact? If the PROFITS were removed from our pump prices (like Exxon-Mobil and other producers are making) our prices would only go down 16 cents per gallon. Think about that the next time some nut screams about Exxon making money. Jeez... they are in BUSINESS to make money. If you have a 401K, you are probably a stock holder through one of your funds. The US refineries are not the problem here.

hmmmm, 2 yrs ago, I needed to work 2-1/2 hrs to fill my tank....4 hrs to fill the truck and boat. If I was making the same money, it would be about 5 and 8 hrs respectively.

If my son had to fill my truck, he'd be working at least 10 hrs. Thinking about it like that, there's something really wrong here.

Why is Iran so cheap on gas? They have virtually no refining capacity and have to import just about all of their refined gasoline.
