you will need a retune on your computer and maybe a bit of wiring for the cam phasing and a l92 computer. not sure if your computer has the option to adjust the cam phasing. other than that, you will probably want to upgrade your tranny or swap in a 4l80 or 6l80

not that simple

your 2005 uses a 24x crank reluctor wheel, whereas the L92 uses a 58x crank reluctor Wheel, now the reason this is a problem is because the 24x wheel is the only wheel you can use with your PCM, the 58x requires the LS2 based computer and a completely new wiring harness as well as extensive modificaton to the interface between the trucks multiple other computers and the PCM

the easier route if your REALLY want L92's is to buy an LQ9 shortblock and put L92 heads on it, or you have to buy an L92 and have the reluctor wheel changed (expensive)

it wouldnt be possible to fabricate the 24x crank wheel on the new crank? im sure it would be easier to fab up a crank mount for the crank pickup, than wiring everything up

not really, to change the reluctor wheel the crankshaft has to be removed from the engine and placed in a jig to make sure the alignment is 100% accurate and proffesionally tig'd to assure 0 warpage

this is one of if not the most critical piece in your engine control system, it tells the engine where the crankshaft is in relation to space, (timing, Fueling, and spark all run on this)

the crank wheel is welded on? really? odd. but if its out of the truck, most machine shops would weld that up for less than $100.

even if they had to be more specific about it, and would have to remove a head to verify everything is phased and lined up properly, it would only be a couple hundred

you know, all it might need is a firmware update on the pcm. lots of guys do swaps and update the OS on their vehicles. it might just require a $100 hptuners upgrade

There was a company last year that put a 6.2L in a 2000 that had a 4.8L and they ended up using the LS2 PCM to run the engine & transmission and still had to keep the original PCM to run the A/C and other components. In the article they stated they had done extensive wiring work and programming to make it work,

This conversion isn't for the inexperienced or budget constrained. If i remember correctly they had $10000 into the project. This is not an easy swap.

Your better off going with a 6.0L.

ok i get it,,, Now i have the 6.0L inside my truck,, but i just asked becouse i think it will give me 500 hp with cam, intake, long tube headers, and a nice crank pully ,,,

ok lets think,,, if we changed the 6.0L block with a 6.2L block on a truck with 5 speed transmission (manual) ,, how it`s gonna be ?? i think we will have high pressure that makes that engine rock ur truck ,, :shakehead:)

what do you think,, becouse i really want the L92 block inside my truck,, i tried the 6.0L,, its good and fast but i want more power without installing any stroker and heads on,, thats what i`m thinking. ( if i have a truck that gives me 500 hp and maybe more and without stroker engine ?? hey you got to your self a monster )

There's also the VVT (variable valve timing). I would think the easiest besides as mentioned, building up an LQ9 block, is to get the L92 with harness and ECM. Although, how much does the L92 ECM need to "talk" to a TCM (transmission controller)?

One of the magazines has a 500HP+ 6.0L buildup, it has a carb, but probably similar EFI compatiable componets could be had. Also places like LS1TECH.com etc would most likely have "been there, done that" threads, even with an L92 swap....

sorry for not understanding u ,, but can it bee with a manual transmissin (5speed) or not :D,,, and how ??? becouse i have a lot off friends want to do the same thing and thay are waiting :D
