Gmpp Air Intake Kit

I'm thinking of getting the GM Performance Parts Air Intake Kit for my 2003 Silverado 5.3L. What are your thoughts on it? Is it easy to install? Pics are welcome.

My thoughts are total waste of money, they do nothing for power other then a little more noise under full acceration which sounds like you have more power and when you open the hood you see chrome. I would take that money and spend it somewhere else on the truck.

Most of the things we buy for our trucks are probably a waste of money, but hey its my money and its fun. I have one on my 2005. I experienced a small fuel mileage increase. Throttle response is improved, and working with my Corsa exhaust and Diablo Sport tune, the trucks runs damn good. So I don't feel I wasted my money,and it really looks cool under the hood. I don't drink or smoke so I got to spend it some where.

 

Enjoy life, you only pass through it once.

There lots of post and opinions regarding CAI's in general, including the GMPP Intake... although the specific brand is mostly irrelevant. Just do a search.

 

Or, if you really want one, forget the search and what other people think, and just buy one. Then if you don't like it, sell it.

This post is pretty old but i'm going to throw my thoughts in there anyway. I have the GMPP intake on my 08 5.3L. I feel as though this particular intake did nothing for my truck as far as performance is concerned. It actually feels like it lost some power in the lower RPM range (1500-2000). It does give the engine a better tone, but who cares about that when your losing power. If I had to do it over again, i think I would have gone K&N.
