Well, Im planning on putting a supercharger on my truck, but had a couple of questions first. Im runnin a 4.8 and it has 186k on it, and no problems so far (woot) Any who i was wondering if the enigne would be able to with stand a supercharger in its current condition, or if i should do an all out rebuild. Also i was curious which type of supercharger i should go with, Im lookin at roots types just for the all out power, but i want to talk to some one that has gone through this. Thanks

The engine should be fine as long as it's tuned properly, You need to be concerned about the tranny as the 4l60e is not a great tranny to begin with.

Yea. I have a 4l80 that i can put in there, so that should with stand it. The enginge like i said is sittin with 186k on it, and hasn't had any problems, and nothing has been touched on it. But how about the rear end, I'm gonna throw an eaton locker 3.73 in it. But In the 4l60, what would i need to do so it could withstand atleast 450 Hp

Might want to do some research about the 4L80 tranny. I don't know if they came out with one without all the electronics that are required. Don't think it will work on your 99.

It has currently 268 at the wheels, and the guy that im going to work with said he promises up to a 160 hp gain, and only because i know him and he will work on it like mad. any way that puts me at 428, and they i will be doing more work later on. So yea, im wonderin if the engine will hold but so far i haven't recived any info on it yet
