Gm Touring Or Performance Exhaust System?

I have a 2003 Silverado 5.3L. Should I go with a Touring or a Performance GM exhaust system? Will the dual rear exit exhaust system clear the spare tire and factory hitch?

The single side will. I have been told that the dual will not clear the spare. I have not seen it personally.

Always go for performance, but I seriously wonder if there's any difference.

The only difference in touring and sport mufflers(acording to Borla) is the touring muffler is longer. Both are straight through.

So is the GM performance exhaust really just a Borla exhaust sold by GM?

Mine is made by Borla. Biggest differences being the GM has a stainless bellows/vibration absorber welded on at the front of the system just behind the cat. The Borla system doesn't have this. The GM mufflers are round, and I believe the system sold by Borla is oval.

I also believe the GM system for your truck is made by Corsa, not Borla.

I thought it was made by both depending on the application...

According to Corsa they haven't had a licensing agreement with GM since 2005. The GMPP exhaust systems since that time are made by Borla.

So if I ordered one now for my truck (a 2003) would it be made by Corsa or by Borla? Is there really any difference between the two anyway, especially in sound? Also, do they clear the spare tire and hitch?

Now you've done it...

I prefer the distinctive Borla sound...The Corsa sport is way too raspy, I have never heard the touring version.

Just my preference and opinion

It will be made by Borla, Someone else will have to chime in about the tire and hitch.
