Ac Leak, Pic And Descripion(on The C4)

Here's a pic. It was low and I filled it to around 27, enough to get the compressor going 100% but not to waste freon. ......got back from vacation so I did it again.... drove it today, got home popped the hood and saw this: (I've pointed the arrow at the spot where you could SEE the freon bubbling):

Right where the tube connects to the top of the compressor....an O-ring? what all will this entail?

I would think it should use O rings. It looks like that hose manifold isn't square with the mounting surface. Did you check that bolt to make sure it was tight?

if I replace the O-ring will I need to evac the freon, replace the orificus, and of course refill? falther in law has all the tools I'd need this week....

Its an easy fix, they leak from there all the time depending on the build time and date they used O-rings but some used disc seals its just an metal washer with rubber on them. But just evac the system change the rings tighten and vacuum and charge no need to replace orificus tube unless its blocked and if it is then u have bigger problems to worry about like a compresor starting to come apart. Got to love the factory dye!! It sprayed it everywere due to the high pressure side leaking with oil!

alright, I've replaced both the washer/o ring things in those tubes, pulling vaccum as I type this.

is it a problem that I can see a bit of light on the side that leaked inbetween the new washer and the compressor?at first I loosened it a little and nothing happened. I wiggled it WHEN ALREADY LOOSE and then I heard some air rush in so I think that is still sealed. currently over 30 # of vac when I did that. I tightened it VERY tight, as tight as I could but there is still a little lights. if I turn the vac pump off I don't hear anything.

filled it up to 36 or 34 low side depending on manifold gauge or the low side only cheapo gauge. I'll report back in a few days. only used 24 oz of freon?

if it stays in a vaccum at near 30inchs after 15-30 mins, I would say youre OK and charge it back up.

it should say how much freon you need on the compressor.

its says two pounds of freon on the blower....

I checked it today, the temp and humidity were very close to yesterday, and it was reading a bit under 30. I had 24 oz at that point so I hooked up another can.... I'd say half the can went in so it's probably close to the 2 pounds, within a few oz.

but the low side gauge is reading a tad over 30, and I had let the car get up to normal temps.....yesterday it was steady at 34....

It's blowing COLD, by why wouldn't it charge over 31/32 today?

Alright, here is a stories of the strange for ya:

I fire it up today as I said, it read a hair over 25 #....I dirve it around town for 30 minutes, then to church, it reads 24#....I drive it home, on the way I stop and buy a 24" blacklight and a can of 143a+UV Glow leak check freon.....I hook it up to charge and it reads.....get this....35 pounds....perfect. WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!?

It's been working fine the whole time, and as I said I've been using at least two guages to check the pressures everytime so I don't get a bad read.
