Sitting High

Okay, not that I got a complex or anything , well maybe I do, but while riding around I see drivers in Ford and Dodges and they are sitting very high in the cabs . I got unpowered seats so I don't know if the GM high-end powered seats lift that way. Does anybody know of any way to lift our seats 2-3 inches? It really gives you a better vantage point while driving.

And no I haven't tried phone books, but a pillow ain't too far out of consideration.

Maybe they are just taller than you.

It shouldn't be too hard to fabricate a bolt in spacer under your current seat brackets. As long as it was solid and bolted to the seat and floor in the stock locations it would probably be plenty safe to do (as long as you don't haul around tall people).

My 2003 Yukon has power seats and they go up and down. I would assume that the seats in the newer GMs are the same way. It's a nice feature as I'm 6' and my wife is 5'1".

Fords overall height is a bit taller, and yeah you could level yours out to get closer.

My God though I was at a stoplight next to a F-350 quad ultra mega king ranch cab and holy crap those things are huge. It had 20" oem upgraded wheels with big ass treads. I felt like a geo metro next to the thing. This truck had to of had at least 2500lbs. of weight on me.

You guys are hilarious, but helpful in your own ways. I had thought of the booster seat, but it'd be kinda messy having to grease up to slide into it every time I need to drive so scratch that one.

As for the lifters, GOOD SHOW HAWKEYE!!!!

Try installing 2 layers of carpet pad 1/2 in., 7-8 lb., between the seat cushion and wire mesh. The foam is real soft on these trucks and the wire mesh starts to slice the bottom of the seat cushion. You should be able to "lean out" your door at arm-pit level, and then you will have the right height.

oh - Kinda thread jacking here, but what the heck is #32 and #34 fuses for DRL - what is DRL? Daytime running lights? Why would you want to turn those off!?
