Question
rklass
I have a 98 K1500 with 5.7L and 4L60E. I am experiencing shuddering when taking off from a stop when the tranny is hot. I've narrowed it down to a torque converter problem. Before dropping a few hundred bucks on a torque converter I want to try and replace the control solenoid to rule it out.
My problem is that there is a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve and a Torque Converter Clutch PWM Solenoid Valve. In the factory service manual I have, the descriptions of these two are so similar I can't figure out which valve to replace. Apparently the valve I'm looking for has a long history of causing shuddering.
