K&n Fipk / Aircharger Question

Im thinking about replacing my factory "heavy duty" air box w/ a K&N FIPK or air charger...

my first question is, i see what looks to me as the mass air sensor that comes off the box. does this go onto the new setup tube ? im guessing it has to but in all the catalogs i have i dont see it on there... also the clean air filter sensor that on the side of box... does this go onto the new setup?

my next question which i believe i found the answer allready but want to verify is there are 2 diff types of setups for my truck, a FIPK and a air charger. it looks like the fipk is 50 state smog legal , but the air charger is not.. correct? I live in ny and they are getting pretty damn strict w/ smog so i dont want it to throw a code...

I just had my inspection done and it passed w/ flying colors... I was a little leary because of changing the computer (wait4me tune) and dual exhaust, but it didnt affect it at all.. any help would be appreciated, thanx

heres a look at what i got now... Im guessing there are a lot of people that have done this allready w/ the fipk , so if u have a pic of it installed on similar body style truck as mine, that would also help,

Threadjack for a second:

I thought the high capacity air filter was just the filter being able to hold more before needing to be changed. And no other changes were made. Am I correct?

thats what i understand it as.... and the way i see it, there is a large paper filter the restricting a lot of flow... thats why i would like to switch to the fipk.. or at least im now thinking to just use the drop in filter (but i know that isnt nearly as helpful as the fipk.

Well i got it, and installed it!! Looks real nice under the hood! And i definately felt the extra power immediately! I had to pick up 20 bags of top soil yesterday (nice wet bags too after a rain)..... so i estimate it at just over 800 pounds , and i barely knew it was back there besides the obvious bed drop.

I'll get to really test it tommorow to / from work on thruways
