07 NBS sierra with hid ballast by mccollough

when i turn them on.1 flickers for about 2 seconds then emits normally, the funny thing is that they alternate, one day it may be the drivers side, then another day the passenger. also sometimes only 1 will come on period, but if you turn the headlight switch off and then back on, they both light, been that way since day one, any ideas, i dont think its the ballast or bulbs, since they alternate, is it a possible voltage or amperage demand issue with the electrical system on the truck. any help is greatly appreciated

also i have already pulled the DRL fuse,

Wish I could help....I had the same issue with the HID's in my YukonXL. So many times people would say to me, you have a light out.

I got into the habit of activating the high-beams, thus the low beam HIDs goes off, then back to low. This would 'wake' up the lazy HID of the day, and all would be fine.

Hope you find a solution.

Do you have the HID lights installed with a relay harness? If not, get one.

I did....but the passenger side still 'winked' out from time to time on startup.

Possibly a bad balast.

May never know now.....the HID's won't fit in the current truck.

+1, although, I think the Mc's do have relay harnesses.

The HID's that I had installed in my YukonXL were 9005 (or is it 9006....).

Anyways, the 2007's use H11 don't they ? I certainly miss the HID's.

I see. You meant your old ones don't fit.

If they are 9005's that you have, you can stick those in the fogs like I did and get some new ones for the lows. Fogs that actually work are great.

Cool...if they'll plug into the fogs, then that's where they're destined to go. :)

They need a little modding but nothing major. Check the link in my sig to what it takes to make the 9005 bulb fit.
