Help! Paint Removal

Recommended Posts

On our road trip last week I got into some white line paint and there are thousands of tiny white specks on my carbon metalic paint. What do you guys recommend to remove them. I can get them off with my clay bar but it takes so serious elbow grease. Didnt know if there was something out there that would make the job easy. Thanks!!

If it's latex paint, you can use turtle wax's bug and tar remover. The stuff in a spray can seems to work best. Spray some on and let it set for a couple of minutes. The spots will soften and just pop off with your fingernail. Follow up with a rag and some more spray and it will be gone. A clay bar works for overspray but not as well for latex paints. I think it has to do with the rubbery nature of the latex. The turtle wax stuff works the same for most of that road stripe paint too.

If it is a hardened enamel, you have your work cut out for you.

Back in 1990 this happened to my GMC and I used Simple Green which worked well. Not sure what type of paint it was back then.
