my passenger side is slower than the rest. when i bought it from the dealer, they had replaced the driver motor and it is fast as hell now. if it isn't the motor, not sure what it would be. lube everything?

I had that problem on my last car. I took the inside door panel off and cleaned the window tracks. Then I sprayed them with some dry silicone lube. That fixed it.

I had read the same fix nfisherman stated somewhere else on the forum before, that it was the tracks not being clean and lubed. I need to do this myself, my windows are CREEEEEEEEEPING these days.

What type of lube is best? I don't want to make a mess of the windows with just any lube.

Also, do you clean the black tracks the window slides up and down in, or do you clean the metal system that moves the window up and down? Or both?

Thanks.

Clean the black tracks that let the window slide up and down. After they're clean, let them dry and then apply a dry spray lube. I used Liquid Wrench Dry Lubricant. It worked well. If you use something oily, it would attract more dirt and smear the window.

While you're at it and your door is apart anyway, it wouldn't hurt to look at the lift mechanism and clean/grease if necessary.

Check for freying on the cable of the window regulator. I have had to replace two on my 2500 HD and one on my Denali. In all casses the windows began to go slower and slower until enough of the cable strand bunched up and stopped the windows completely. Replacement of the reg is easy.
