Aluminum Gmc Emblem

I bought a polished aluminum GMC emblem for my truck to replace the factory emblem, and I was going to mount it, but then I thought I should put something on it to protect it and keep the polished shine. I was originally thinking about maybe a polyurethane or clearcoat of some sort, but I want something that will last........any suggestions?

I'd suggest plain old wax and keep it as clean as you can. You can always give it a nice polish every now and then.
