What Is This Noise, Where Is It Coming From?

Its a bomb!!!

Can you hear it any better if you are by the hood? Or is it just inside the cab? Ac on or off? Dead animal hanging onto the drive train?

Sounds like a bad HVAC Actuator (controls flaps) with stripped gears. I know first hand cause it happened to my '04 crewcab.

Try engine off, but key forward to power A/C. Move Heat/Cool or Vent Selector to see if noise changes.

Good luck,

I will certainly try that, thanks for the heads up!

I give up. What is it? :D It sounds like an animal trying to get out of a box or something.

I thought the same thing, maybe there is an animal in there. Damn neighborhood cats are always playing in the jungle gym that is my truck (i have seen them climb up under my truck more times than i care to count). So I thought that maybe one of those MFs might have gotten stuck between the engine and firewall.. or something like that. Nope. week after week it is still there.

That is exactly what my 05 Suburban was doing. Under warranty at the time they replaced the A/C dampner motor, gears were stripped.

I dont even use the AC more than 1-3 times a year!

I will check it out, and thanks!

Riggs,

Pretty sure that's not what they mean by "chasing pu$$y".
