jeff4880 Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I just bought a 1994 GMC K1500 pick up. It is leaking transmission fluid from under the radiator. This could be the radiator or one of the tranny cooler lines. I'm thinking its one of the lines. Does anybody know the o.d. of the steel line so I can cut out the broken section and replace it with hose?
L29er Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 I`v never seen those leak from the metal part of the line, are you sure its not comming from the fitting in the rad? they always leak were they go from the tube to the flex hose.... my guess otherwise would be 5/8"? but it could be alittle bigger dunno....
jeff4880 Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 I bought the truck for 100 bucks. It was sitting for 3 years and is very rusty. I was assuming that the one of the metal lines rotted out and is now leaking (all the fuel/brake lines were rotted). You could be right I have not looked under the truck yet.
C & A s Dad Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 The lines are 3/8". It is likely leaking around the fitting in the radiator like Clancy said.
jeff4880 Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 Thanks, I will look under the truck tonight. Hopefully I can fix it with out replaceing the entire line. Its tough to put alot of money into a truck that only cost 100 bucks.
