From my last posts - I found my blower was only runin in high mode because the blower resister was blown.

I pulled it and it was burnt and black. I got a new one to replace it, but it had a warning that it was the NEW upgraded blower motor resister and needed to follow TSB but I cant find whats differnt in installing this new part.

Any suggestions ? It looks like it should just bolt right in.

thanks

I replaced the blower motor resistor twice in a 2002 Dodge Dakota I used to have. Unhook the wire, unscrew the bad resistor, screw in the new resistor, hook up the wire and test. Took all of 10 minutes and was easy to get into in the passenger footwell area of the Dakota. For what that's worth?!

Well, take this with a grain of salt.... I changed mine on my '02 Avalanche about 2 years ago. I've never had a problem with it. The new part looked ALOT different than the old part. If the '02 and '04 use the same resister, and the new style resister was in effect a couple years ago, you shouldn't have a probelm just putting it back in. Does the electrical hook up look the same? Does it physically fit in the slot? Those were the only things that were the same on mine. Everything else was different.

But it wouldn't hurt to talk to you local dealer to see if they know about the TBS.

Did mine when it went ~1.5 yrs ago. It did look totally different too. Figured that was the re-design (or the proper-design). Just snap it in there and be done with it. I've got 2 buddies that have done the same thing. No probs with any of the 3 trucks since.
