37" Tires On A 6" Lift Kithi

Hi i have a 06 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a CST 6-8" Lift Kit and right now im running

Toyo MT 295/70R17 (33.5x11.9). these tires had them before the lift but now i want to

go higher. So i want to know if i can run Toyo MT 37x13.5R17 or BF MT KM2 37x12.5R17?

and what gear ratio would you guys recomend me to install? right now i have the factory gears

At least 4.56, probably 4.88. 4.88 will bring the feel closer to the stock gears with stock tires.

 

Also be careful running 37s on 1/2 ton IFS, the largest you can go safely is 35s, so keep a very close eye on ball joints, tie rods, CVs, and wheel bearings. If there is any play in anything, replace it right away.

The site says it can run 35s. I would imagine you would have to have 4.56 or 4.88s for gears. I think the 4.56s will give you close to stock.

I know that cst and most brand suggest running 35" on 8" wide wheels. right now i have

pro Comp 9001 Series 17x9 and i dont have any rubbing issues not now and not before the lift.

 

I know that running bigger tires add stress to the suspension parts but my main concern is if

my engine and transmission can handle them? (Vortec V8 5.3L)

If you re-gear to at least 4.56 or 4.88, you should have no problems with the drivetrain.

if you are running 35's 4.10's will be more than sufficient. I have 4.10's with 35's on this truck and my last truck 2005 with a 5.3

I recommend going with BFG A/T KO's for an all terrain tire or if your wanting something more aggressive I have the Cooper Discoverer STT's and love em. they are similar to the Mickey Thompson MTZ's.

 

You can fit 37's on your truck if you add a body lift to go with your 6" lift but I'm not sure what gears to recommend.

Yup. The Mickey Ts are actually manufactured by Cooper. I've got the MTZs, and I love them. Good on road, even better off.

37's would be more then snug with only 6 inch lift. If you did a 2-3" body lift, it would clear them. For 37's I would recommend 4.88 gears. 4.56's with the 35's.

Remember if you go with the 37" tire, upgrade the brakes.
